Porcelain porridge bowl
Porcelain is a beautiful material. The fine, compressed grains of granite have been formed at altitude. This means the clay is not stained with gritty impurities containing iron and other minerals washed down by rivers and found in lower land. Creamy white, prized and ancient. Throwing porcelain clay is a challenge; it has no appetite for change. But if shaped successfully the fired piece is incredibly strong and retains heat brilliantly.
