Porcelain vase
I wanted to celebrate the beauty of porcelain and its interaction with a green slip that is stable on less refined clay bodies.
On a white stoneware or buff clay body the green slip fires to a single shade of dark green. On porcelain the iron and copper oxide coloured slip creates a mottling of browns and greens. Slashes of cobalt oxide wash add detail to the curved surfaces of the vase.
The vase is assembled from thrown bowls.
