Traces - a series of wall tiles

Traces of the past are imprinted on the present. My inspiration for this series of tiles is clay's ability to record form and texture in fine detail.

Clay has been cast in a textured plaster mould. Oxide washes and glazes have been used to accentuate the surface, and give the whole an abstract quality. The tiles are framed because I think of them as prints in clay.
